How to export everything from Pulley before December 8
Pulley goes dark on December 8, 2026 and limited data access ends January 31, 2027. Here is everything you need out of it, and how to check the export is actually complete.
Pulley shuts down on December 8, 2026. After that the app is inaccessible, and Pulley says data is available in a limited format only until January 31, 2027.
Whatever you decide about where to go next, the export is the part with a hard deadline attached. This is the checklist — it takes an afternoon.
What to pull
The holder ledger. Every stakeholder, share class, certificate or grant number, issue date, and the consideration paid. This is the spine of the cap table; everything else attaches to it.
Every equity award, with schedules. Not the summary. For each grant you want the grant date, vesting commencement date, schedule, cliff, strike price, quantity granted, quantity exercised, quantity cancelled, and expiry. Vesting schedules are the single most commonly mangled field in a migration, and the hardest to reconstruct from a summary total.
Valuation reports. Every 409A you have ever had, not just the current one. Auditors and acquirers ask for the history, and a completed report is yours — but only if you hold the file.
Board consents and resolutions. The documents that authorised the pool, each increase, and each issuance. Without them a clean ledger is still an unsupported one.
SAFEs and convertibles. With caps, discounts, MFN terms and conversion mechanics. These are the terms most often dropped in a transfer, and you will not notice until you model a priced round.
83(b) elections, exercise paperwork and cancellations. Nobody can reconstruct these later. If an employee’s 83(b) is only in your equity platform, it is one shutdown away from being gone.
Stakeholder contact details. Boring, and the thing that makes the next platform’s portal invitations work on day one.
Get it in two formats
Export the machine-readable files — CSV or XLSX — and the PDFs. The spreadsheets are what the next platform ingests; the PDFs are what an auditor, an acquirer or a lawyer will ask for in three years, when the platform that generated them no longer exists.
Store both somewhere you control: your own drive, your own bucket, your own backup. Not a folder inside another vendor.
Verify before the door closes
An export you have not opened is a rumour. Before December 8:
- Open every file. A zero-byte CSV or a PDF that fails to render is easy to miss and impossible to fix later.
- Check four totals against the live app: shares outstanding, fully diluted shares, pool size, and remaining unallocated pool. Write them down — these are your reconciliation targets after you migrate.
- Spot-check grants. Pick three or four, including one with a non-standard schedule, and compare the export against the original grant letter.
- Count the documents. If the app says you have 41 signed documents, confirm 41 files came out.
After you migrate, reconcile against your own files
Whether you take the assisted path to Carta or move somewhere else, reconcile the new system against your export — never against the old system’s summary screen.
The four quiet failures:
- Unallocated pool imported as zero, or as granted.
- Vesting commencement dates shifted, which changes what every employee sees.
- Exercised or cancelled options imported as outstanding, inflating fully diluted.
- SAFE caps and discounts dropped, which only surfaces when you model a round.
Fix them in the first week, while you still remember what the right answer was.
Then keep doing it
The habit this shutdown should leave behind: a quarterly export of your cap table, in a format you can read without the vendor, in storage you control. It takes ten minutes and it makes every future migration — planned or forced — a data-entry exercise instead of an archaeology project.

Questions
- How long do I have to export my data from Pulley?
- The Pulley app stops being accessible after December 8, 2026. Pulley says data remains available in a limited format only until January 31, 2027. Export while the app is fully live rather than relying on the limited window.
- What should I export from Pulley?
- The holder ledger, every grant with its full vesting schedule and strike price, exercise and cancellation history, all 409A valuation reports, board consents and resolutions, SAFEs and convertibles with their terms, and 83(b) elections. Export machine-readable files and the PDFs.
- How do I know the export is complete?
- Reconcile four numbers against the app before it closes: total shares outstanding, fully diluted shares, pool size, and remaining unallocated pool. Then spot-check three or four individual grants against their original grant letters.
- Does Pulley help with exports if I am not moving to Carta?
- Pulley says it is unable to assist a migration to a different provider in any capacity. Assume the export and the reconciliation are yours to run, and do them while support is still reachable.
